It's gardening season. I'm new at this. It takes time, skill, knowledge and yes, patience. One day the patience thing I will learn, kicking and screaming as I go! Thank you Lord for your patience, grace and mercy with me.
Most people know that there's two parts to gardening. There's the prepping/sewing season then there's the season of harvest where you finally get to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Currently, I'm in between the two. I've planted and am now awaiting the harvest. In the waiting there's watering, pruning, and taking care of the plants so they continue to thrive.
Our Christian life is just like that. How can we expect to grow in our relationship with Christ if we don't spend time with Him allowing us to take away the things that don't look like Him. Christian pruning isn't for the faint of heart but it's necessary in order to have that deep-rooted relationship with Jesus.
Bible reading and prayer are essential parts of our relationship with Jesus. They are nourishment to our souls. Prayer is just as important as Bible reading. I'm currently fasting for an undisclosed unknown period of time. There are some things in my life God has revealed to me I need to get right with Him.
Our family is in a season of adding to our family through adoption. We don't know who the little boy is. We've never met him. We don't know his name or when he will come to live with us. We must stay ready at all times for a call at any given moment. This is teaching me patience. I don't like to wait, but in the waiting God is doing HIS best work NOT MINE!
So, in this season of growing veggies and fruits, adding another member to our family, and most importantly growing in Christ, I ask you to humbly pray. Pray for God to do the impossible. Pray for our little boy. Faith, one tiny seed at a time can move mountains and I'm believe God for a beautiful season of harvest in His time.
